Sonia is a distinguished Indian journalist and the Editorial Director of NDTV, where she also chairs the ethics committee. With a career spanning over two decades, she has been instrumental in shaping the network’s journalistic ethos and has overseen coverage of major events like the Kandahar hijack, the Kargil war, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Sonia hosts “The NDTV Dialogues,” a premier show that delves into critical issues and seeks comprehensive solutions. A Chevening Scholar, she has received numerous accolades, including the 2024 India UK Achievers Honours. Sonia Singh’s compelling storytelling and dedication to ethical journalism have made her a revered figure in Indian media.
Alison Barrett MBE, Director, British Council India
Alison is the Director of the British Council in India, leading operations in English, education, and arts to strengthen the educational and cultural ties between India and the UK. With over 25 years of experience at the British Council, Alison has held numerous senior roles across the Asia-Pacific region, including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, UAE, and Thailand. Her commitment to fostering international collaboration is evident in her work on initiatives like The Climate Connection, which brings together young people, policymakers, and sector specialists globally to address climate change through education and cultural engagement. Alison holds an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of London and was awarded an MBE in 2014 for her contributions to English education in India. Her extensive experience and dedication make her a pivotal figure in promoting educational and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
Sanam Arora, Chairperson of NISAU UK & Investment Management Strategist
